AIGA
Chicago

The Chicago AIGA asked me to create the identity for their 2015 Annual Meeting – essentially a large party, where the who’s who of design creatives in the city gather to eat hors d'oeuvres and drink free booze while shouting at each other over music that couldn’t be much louder. A certain type of cynicism pervaded this concept with a desire to poke fun at the stereotypical habits of designers, and leveraged a visual language that spoke in the familiar vernacular. Plus, the use of a modular grid system was the literal manifestation of “pushing pixels”. I also created all the pixel based type for this project.

The focal point of this project was an animation that spanned an entire wall of the event space. I worked with Bart Lewandowsky on this project – I provided design and creative direction, and he animated. Below are some clips from that animation.
